Quick disk 3 womens 2019 weight7/14/2023 ![]() Because some of our top picks are no longer in stock, we also included a few that we didn’t test but still recommend based on our experience with similar bikes in the same range. I used my own experiences to inform these selections, as well as the work of Bicycling’s team of expert bike testers, who spent weeks on many of these models-commuting on them, taking them out on long bike path cruises, and using them to join fun group rides-to suss out the best (and least desirable) qualities. Anticipating these queries, I’ve made a big effort to test as many hybrids and city bikes as I can-not only because they’re great for commuting, fitness, and fun, but also because these are the kinds of bikes that my non-bike-geeky friends and family are most interested in buying. The 20 Best Road Bikes You Can Get Right NowĪs a former bike messenger, bike tour leader, and writer for bike publications, I’ve been asked to recommend a lot of bikes over the years.10 Awesome Touring Bikes for Your Next Adventure. It’s a great, low-maintenance option if you can afford it, though it adds a small amount of weight. A belt drive is also easy to use (one shifter controls everything) and, perhaps best of all, lets you change gears while sitting still at a stoplight. ![]() It’s incredibly reliable and very clean, says Andrew Lumpkin, CEO of Spot Bikes. Belt Drives and Internally Geared HubsĪ belt drive (which takes the place of a chain) with an internally geared hub (where all the gearing is packaged inside the rear hub’s shell and sealed from the elements) requires less maintenance than a traditional chain-and-derailleur drivetrain. A single-ring option simplifies shifting and cuts down on maintenance but may not have the range you need for climbing. Bikes with three front chainrings typically cost less, but the third ring can make shifting less precise. Having more gears in the back allows you to fine-tune your shifting so you can keep a steady cadence, no matter the terrain. ![]() ![]() Most fitness bikes come with two chainrings in the front and between nine and 11 cogs in the rear. Some lower-cost bikes may come with cable-actuated disc brakes, a cheaper alternative that’s not quite as powerful or as low maintenance as a fully hydraulic disc-brake system but that delivers similar all-weather performance and reliability. These are just a few of the reasons why new cyclists and commuters are often drawn to this type of bike.ĭisc brakes offer better control in a wider range of conditions than rim brakes. This provides a wide hand stance for better control, easy brake-lever access, and a more upright position that’s comfortable and conducive to looking over a shoulder in traffic. ![]() But while a road bike typically comes outfitted with a drop bar, a hybrid bike’s signature feature is a flat handlebar. Drop BarĪ hybrid bike starts with a traditional road bike platform: fast-rolling 700c wheels and a lightweight, efficient frame. What to Consider When Buying a Hybrid Bike Flat Bar vs. Just note that these are the types of bikes in the highest demand now, so in some cases we’ve substituted different-but also great-models of the same bike for those no longer in stock. All together they have more than 60 years of experience in the bike industry and lots of insight into what makes a great commuter or hybrid bike. To choose these bikes, I relied on my own test experience, and also the expertise of Bicycling’s gear team, which includes Deputy Editor Tara Seplavy, Senior Test Editor Matt Phillips, and Test Editor Dan Chabonov. These are also the kinds of bikes I’m most often asked to recommend to friends and family new to cycling-and I’ll admit I take this role as a bike-buying advisor far too seriously. Show more The Expert: In my 10 years as a bike tester for Bicycling-and more than two decades as an everyday commuter cyclist-I’ve had the chance to ride nearly a hundred different bikes designed for fitness, recreation, and commuting on varied terrain. ![]()

Beyond skyline 20157/14/2023 ![]() ![]() In fact, it sounds like how the aliens fight will actually be a big part of this film. There's no word on who Ruhian will portray in the film.īut the cool thing is they're both acting as fight choreographers on the film. The role was written with Grillo in mind as O'Donnell, who also wrote this script, says Grillo is great at playing a "throw-back action hero battling his inner demons while outwardly kicking ass.” As for Uwais, he's playing the leader of an underground resistance that forms after aliens touch down on earth. ![]() In the film, Grillo will play a detective who fights to free his son from a terrifying alien warship. In fact, despite the title, Variety says Beyond Skyline is actually being developed as a standalone film, so it's more of a spin-off than anything. However, now it's the original film's writer and producer Liam O'Donnell at the helm, and there's a chance it just may get interesting with The Raid stars Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian taking roles. Variety has word that the Captain America: The Winter Soldier star is set to lead Beyond Skyline, a sequel to the better-off-forgotten 2010 sci-fi thriller Skyline directed by Greg & Colin Strouse. But Grillo will also get a chance to team up with the cast of the original foreign action hit. "Over the summer we learned that Frank Grillo would have a role in the remake of The Raid, which is scheduled to begin shooting in January of 2015. This is a Variety article giving more information: I was always under the impression that it was a big budget studio release, but I guess that shows just how good the special effects were in the first film."įrank Grillo, Iko Uwais, Yayan Ruhian and Antonio Fargas have been confirmed for the film. I also never knew that it was an indie film. I'll need to watch the first one again at some point to make a proper judgement on the film. Shooting is apparently going to begin in December. if you don't like the genre then don't bother and why rate it if you don't anyhow."This is slightly old news, but I only found 2 mentions of this film on Reddit, and that was before it officially went into pre-production. Definitely give this film a shot if you like the genre. So I'm intentionally rating this a smidge higher than I normally would because of what I perceive to be unwarranted disapproval. I genuinely liked this movie a lot, not Shakespeare but a good, original alien action flick that was totally enjoyable to watch. they used the tropes to push the story forward and then abandoned them like the cheap " : 's" that they are. Yeah there was some basic tropes in it but never once did the film dwell in any of them. ![]() Not to mention what Jean Claud Van Dam made a child actress say about the size of his wang for one of his films. The kid was for the most part, silent which was refreshing to say the least because we all know how Hollywood likes using children as sock puppets to preach to the adults in a film to promote whatever schlock their peddling, usually ultra liberal caa caa. Not once did we have to sit through the, mommy, mommy, mommy repeated at us like Hollywood usually does. The child aspect was not trite, sacrine nor overly cliched like every dang show in media lately. Great catch phrases like, everything burns, effing Americans and finally effing Aliens were well delivered and not overdone. I absolutely adored the Martial arts fighting brother and sister that we meet halfway through. It wasn't predictable at all, creature features were original and their methods somewhat graphic to good effect. It had a smidge of corn ball but nothing compared to the terminator movies. It wasn't predictable at all, creature features were original and their methods somewhat graphic Finally I get to give a positive review about something! I don't understand why this movie has such lacklustre reviews. Finally I get to give a positive review about something! I don't understand why this movie has such lacklustre reviews. ![]()

Miramar kite festival7/13/2023 ![]() ![]() We cannot afford to lose any more open spaces, and it is time for the significant redevelopment of the historic section of Miramar, with no gentrification whatsoever. ![]() My fervent hope is that the growth across the city will slow. Lining up plans in Miramar Beach Whether youre a local, new in town, or just passing through, youll be sure to find something on Eventbrite that piques your interest. The simple reason for that is the incredibly dedicated staff at all levels of the City Miramar. What is essential, however, is that the city has been able to supply the needs of our residents and business partners in grand fashion and to the satisfaction of most who reside and work in Miramar, more so than any municipality in South Florida. I have been a part of the dramatic growth in a city that increased from approximately 98 thousand to the estimated current 140 thousand residents. The events that attract FAMILIES! After all, if we are not providing activities that our residents can attend as families, we might just be missing a significant component of our community. This event’s success marks several accomplishments that I am convinced are of significance. This idea was initially a suggestion from a kite enthusiast associate. We handed out 2-thousand free kites to children who had a wonderful day at our Regional Park, a first for most of them, considering their ages. Hundreds flocked to terraces and rooftops. Estimates suggest there could have been as many as 6-7 thousand attendees in the park for this event. Six people, including three children, have died after their throats were cut by glass-coated kite strings during an annual kite-flying festival in India. Why is this special? This program came to fusion from a discussion with a resident of Miramar.įast forward to our incredibly successful 3rd Annual Kite Festival on March 25, 2023. Yet I am proudest that these twenty years have been a journey of service. For a delightful outdoor family excursion, a kite festival in South Florida is ideal - especially when its free.

Thomas would call the side pocket for one shot on the five ball in the left side pocket. Object balls would rapidly disperse and fall into the pocket showcasing a powerful well-played break. Thomas would start with his break, where he would put a pounding on the cue ball. Thomas in his teenage years traveled across the state of Virginia wreaking havoc on his opponents. When he did not have a good shot himself, he'd play the shot so it left no easy opportunities on the table for his opponent. The movement of Thomas' stroke was a second part of becoming better. With the blink of an eye, Thomas picked up different ways to win, like playing defense. Thomas discovered these pool halls through his days of practice.
